FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Please note our FAQ may be updated for 2019 enrolment. Below are our FAQs for 2018.
What can I expect?
This depends on which time of the year you start. The earlier the better. Usually by the middle of term there has been some choreography started however you will be able to catch up by watching and learning any new choreography. All our teachers and students are wonderful and will help you along the way.
What if I've never taken a class before?
A lot of our new students are first timers and that is perfectly okay! Our existing students and teachers will help you gain the skills you need to be able to participate in the classes. If you are struggling just let someone know and you will get the help you need.
What time are your classes on?
Our classes from from 4pm-9pm Monday to Friday. Private lessons are scheduled throughout the week and on Saturdays.
Where are you located?
We are located on Argyle Street in South Windsor. Just a few hundred meters down the road from Windsor RSL
What happens if I miss a class?
If you miss a class you will have to catch up on the missed choreography in your own time. It is not fair on other students if we slow the class down to catch up students who have been absent. If you need extra help let your teacher know and they may be able to offer some extra time to help catch you up or ask one of the other students. We are all here to support you.
What do I wear on my first lesson?
Wear comfy, appropriate clothes and shoes you will be able to dance in. It is important to wear flat shoes that are not directional (ie running shoes are designed to keep your feet facing forwards). Basketball shoes are ideal.
Do you have a trial period?
We do not offer trial lessons however we do have a 100% money back guarantee as we are confident you will enjoy your lessons with us. Check out the money back guarantee information here.
How do I pay?
Off Centre Dance Co offers two payment options. Direct Debit fortnightly during term weeks or direct transfer. Upon signing up you will be required to fill in a direct debit form and you will be issued with an invoice for the term. Once you have taken your first lesson (and after 30 days) you are locked in for the remainder of the term. If you choose to pay your invoice via direct deposit, you must do so in full and before the first scheduled direct debit.
Do I have to sign up to direct debit?
Yes. All customers must sign up for direct debit even if you are intending to pay up front. If for any reason payment is not received by the first debit date, you will be debited. You must let us know if you have paid via direct deposit asap.
Am I required to perform?
You will never be forced to do anything you are not comfortable doing however we do encourage you to perform periodically throughout the year. If you are not comfortable just let your teacher know and they will make sure you are not positioned somewhere in the dance that can not be removed at performance time. For competition routines you may have to sit down and watch.
Do you do exams?
We do not currently offer exams however this is something we are looking into and may offer in the future.
Where can I park?
Parents and Students are asked to park along the road outside the studio only.
The car park located inside the gates are for staff only as there is no safe way for students to exit the premises without walking up the driveway. Parents must keep the driveway clear at all times as we do not own every factory unit in the complex and we must not prevent access.
How many people are in a class?
Our classes are maxed at 30 students.
Do I have to wear a uniform?
Uniform is compulsory however our style is quite relaxed. If you do not own any uniform you are able to wear Off Centre coloured clothing which is Grey, Black, white or Blue. New uniform is available for purchase from our online store.
Can parents watch the class?
We ask that parents do not watch the classes in progress as students are easily distracted. Parents must not interrupt the class or talk to students during class times. If you wish to speak to your child during class time please speak to a teacher. Although studio one is open to the reception, we ask that parents do not sit in reception area and watch students during class. Waiting rooms are available for parents up stairs above studio 1 and 2 and outside studio 3.
Is my child safe?
Who do I contact If I have questions about my invoice?
As invoices are emailed out, simply reply back to the email and our accounts team will contact you back asap. We want your invoice to be 100% correct however sometimes there may be something wrong and we need to know so we can fix it straight away.
When is the concert?

All students who are participating in performances will receive a costume hire invoice which includes a costume hire bond. As long as there is no damage to the costumes, the bond is returned in full.
